AppUserList v1.0 – Application User List

As promised, the first release of the AppUserList tool (v1.0) is finally available.

Over the last few days, after publishing my first post (AppUserList – Application User List – Silvio Balduzzi’s Blog), I received a lot of interest from the Citrix community, and that pushed me to release this first version as quickly as possible.

I want to make clear to anyone reading this post that my main job is a long way from being a developer, so please be patient if the tool doesn’t work perfectly right away 😀

Here are the details of the components included in this first public release:

AULMonitor: v1.0
AULService: v1.0.75
TaskScheduler: v1.0.4
AULReport: v1.0.66

You’ll find several files: AppUserList guide.pdf, Release note.txt, AppUserList v1.0.zip (the full package, containing all the components of the v1.0 release) and a folder containing the .zip files of the individual components (AULService, AULMonitor and AULReport).

Installing the components is described step by step in the AppUserList guide.pdf document.

Future developments:

Talking with some colleagues, we began to wonder whether the information collected by the tool might be considered sensitive under the European GDPR rules. In particular, collecting actions that can be traced back to a user (we track the executables each user launches during their work sessions) could be considered similar to the way UAM software works.

So we’re working on an upcoming release that will let the system administrator mask users’ usernames, so that you can get anonymized reports.

Also, we can’t wait to get feedback from the Community!!
