In my lab I installed a backup software called HYCU. It isn’t, for now, one of the best-known backup products, but it has little to envy the big-name solutions.
The advantage of this product is its native support for both NUTANIX (including, of course, NUTANIX CE) and VMware. It can also replicate your VMs to public clouds to build DR environments.
In my environment (as described here: https://www.silviobalduzzi.com/en/2020/04/home-lab/) I run both NUTANIX CE and VMware, and with HYCU I can back up both virtual environments (for a subset of VMs that I want to protect).
I found HYCU’s configuration very simple and intuitive, and the management console is also very well made and easy to understand.
HYCU can back up to a good number of different repository types, and in my case I configured a NAS with one SMB share and a second one over NFS. HYCU can use different targets for backup and for archiving the backups themselves, which means you can use different types of repository: faster ones for backup and slower, but cheaper, ones for long-term archiving.

Another advantage of this product (given that I use it in a lab) is that, after the trial license expires, the environment keeps on working; a banner simply shows that you are not compliant with the license. Actually, in my case I’m still compliant, because HYCU is available for free to back up VMs in NUTANIX CE environments (https://www.hycu.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/HYCU-Data-Protection-for-Nutanix_UserGuide.pdf)
